Would Liberals Be Willing To Pay A 10% Higher Tax On Everything Compared To What The Republicans Would Pay?

I’m just curious, since Liberals like high taxes and helping the poor, why not walk the talk with your own money?
Would you be willing to show the world how much you really care about poor people with your very own money?

“Read my lips: no new taxes.”
Our deficit is now 9.6 trillion dollars. Whoever gets elected will have to raise taxes; have you been reading what’s going on with the economy? Why do you think there’s 5 trillion dollars in mortgage risks, banks closing, and Canadian money is worth more than the USD? Do you realize that every head in the US has double the debt they had under Clinton? Maybe it has to do with Bush’s financial budget being the largest in US history, and outspending every liberal president since the founding of this country. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=s…
The recession is still in our heads, right? You sound like you know more than stock brokers, anyway; so I’ll trust you, and not the stock market.
So to answer your question, taxes will go up under either candidate if we wish to maintain economic stability– Bush senior raised taxes during the early 90s for the same reason. that’s just reality for you.
Edit: The debt doubled under Bush. Whoever said he cleaned up the economy clearly isn’t knowledgeable about the market, or his record budgets from 2000-2006. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ So Bush’s deficit spending makes Clinton clearly look like a miser.

Why not? I already support a failed rich mans war. Uhhh- I mean occupation, along with all those poor Iraqi’s.
I already fund tax dollars to the very profitable oil companies to find alteranative drill sites. Uhhh I mean fuel sources.
I already help support the wal-mart family and paris hiltons’ of country by making sure they get their tax cut cause they would’nt want to pay their fair share of the tax burden.
And I may as well pay that 10% for the poor, cause it seems that the poor, will be my children, workin at a sevice job like wal mart without health benefits, because some large conglomerate has shipped decent paying jobs overseas.
And you as a right wing wacko and me as a liberal are already paying higher taxes in the form of inflation. Fueled by the policies of the republican party and administration by borrowing soooo much money from china to finace a tax cut for the rich.
What we pay is far more than 10%. That 10% that you pulled out of your @%% is nothing to what we will be paying down the road.

since I lost my job it isn’t a relevant question for me and my little part time job is taxed to the limit but I would and have done everything I can to help people in need and luckily when the Democrats win we won’t be paying higher taxes, the rich Republicans will since how many houses, cars and vacations do you need?
this is why the Republicans are scared that Obama might win and keep pushing all the lies about taxes, do some research and find the facts.

To address the person that said that Ronald Regean created a deficit, what are you smoking?
Jimmy Carter could’ve put the economy in the worst position ever.
inflation rates in double digits along with unemployment.
    massive deficit.
and Ronald Reagen cleaned it up. and Billy boy came back in and messed it up again.
Then georgy came in and made it better then democrats took over congress and messed it up again.

as long as red states get no federal funds… sure…
the red states have some of the poorest areas and use some of the most federal funds… yet they complain about it the most…
maybe they are lazy after being on welfare for too long?
I’m tired of paying for Republicans that complain about it…

  6. Scott T says:

Liberals already talk with our own money. We pay more to the government in blue states than the people in red states, and get less money back. Since our salaries tend to be higher, we also pay more tax and are in a higher tax bracket.

10% higher taxes? That’s such a small amount of funds relative to a yearly income. Absolutely yes, if it would help to elevate the lower income brackets. The middle class is the engine of an economy, not the upper class.

  8. ndmagicm says:

Sure and then Republicans get to pay for all wars started by their inept leaders with their direct tax money. After all your love of America comes at the end of a rifle and the tip of a bomb.

    McCain plan: taxes up 3%
