Try not to look at it from an economic perspective. Instead look at it from a moral perspective, how would YOU feel if you worked hard your whole life to achieve a prestige status in society only to have a good portion of your income being taxed and going to people who are at the bottom of the ladder, people who probably didn’t work as hard as you. People who are downright lazy.
How would you feel?
Do You Think The Wealthy Have A Moral Obligation To Pay More Taxes And Help The Middle Class?

They have a moral obligation to pay their fair and equal share. Under the Bush Administration, many of the wealthiest people actually ended up paying less tax as a percentage then most middle class people.
Beyond that, I would think once you are extremely wealthy, you would make a choice to put that money to good use, to benefit society in a good way. People like Bill Gates turn to philanthropy to help them distribute their wealth, AND also to call attention to causes they believe to be important. Sometimes just their “celebrity” status can do wonders. I mean at some point, you really dont need any more money…The responsible thing to do is to steward the hoard to the greater good. To do otherwise is selfish, and wasteful. No where did I say handout, or free gifts, or welfare…
Sometimes people, societies, economies, locales, just need that little boost to get them to a better place. The wealthiest realize this and help nuture our future.
